Traveling to Bilbao Spain for the IPCC 2023 conference
First off, welcome to the brand new PASPCR website and News page! We are delighted that you are here.
PASPCR members who were able joined with the other three sister societies of the IFPCS to attend the IPCC 2023 conference in May. Bilbao is a wonderful city with many beautiful sights, including various giant outdoor art pieces like Puppy and incredible architecture. Everything in Bilbao was walkable and we had gorgeous weather. An Athletic Bilbao football match at the local stadium brought what looked to be the entire city into the streets, all dressed in red and white. Not to be forgotten: The talks and poster sessions were so interesting and well organized. Many events were accompanied by amazing Pintxos (‘peen-chos’), which are savory little bites.
Thank you very much to the ESPCR for hosting this event!
Sights in Bilbao
This is Puppy. Puppy is the world’s largest flower sculpture.
There is a statue of John Adams, who was the US president in 1797. He visited Bilboa in 1780 to learn about the Basque local government system.
